Questions Fable asked

This page records the useful reframing questions raised by Anthropic's Fable 5 during EmberScope work and connects them to the engineering evidence that can answer them.

Recorded intervention

Could common off-the-shelf equipment meet the mission instead?

Fable proposed a project route using common off-the-shelf equipment while another model had continued trying to make the bespoke optical and mechanical concept succeed. The value was the change in framing, not a new component design.

This wording is a faithful paraphrase of the AAO working discussion, not a verbatim model transcript. More questions can be added when their exact wording and project consequence have been retained.

Follow the engineering consequence

The question points to existing COTS, mission and custom-optics evidence.

Evidence boundary

A useful question is not a controlled model comparison.

Fable entered after the project requirements and evidence record had become more mature. This observation does not establish that Fable is generally better at mechanical or optical engineering than another model.

See AI methodology and provenance for the project's human-responsibility boundary, and see Anthropic's Fable 5 page for the vendor's current product description.
